Isolde 1/3/2010 - 7/26/2021
Isolde aka "Soda Pop" 80 lbs and awesome, always very focused and all business in the team. In harness she was the steadiest, hardest working, most reliable puller I had. Always with a tight tug and a happy but no nonsense attitude, one of my best all round dogs and a great wheel dog. Out of harness, she was a character. The official reporter for the yard, she would tell me anytime I was needed outside. If you heard her barking, you had better go see what was up because she let no one get away with anything and also would let me know when one of the other dogs needed help.
Isolde was my heart dog. We had a bond like no other and it was so hard losing her this year to osteo scarcoma. I got her as a pup from my friend in SC who bred both her and Clyde. She was very intelligent and very connected to me. She listened off leash and on for me but would often ignore every other person and while she would tolerate attention from other people it was nothing more than tolerance. If I wasn't home she made her own rules and did as she liked until I returned. She was mine and I was hers.
Isolde had several litters of puppies. She was the foundation of my Alaskan husky side of the kennel and a big part of the Heritage Breed Preservation Program I am participating in. Isolde was an excellent mother and had the knack of passing own her wonderful traits and her looks to her offspring. Her first litter with Avett gave us their son Levon and she was still as protective of him at 10 as she was when he was a puppy. Oban, Igraine & Tuco were her last litter born in 2019 with Boo as their father.
